Content (Syllabus outline)
Soil composition; soil properties with focus on soil fertility: texture, structure, density, porosity, air and water in the soil; organic matter and soil organisms, soil colloids and sorption, soil solution (soil acidity, soil salinity); soil nutrients (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, micronutrients). Basic principles of recycling of nutrients, organic fertilizers (animal manure, compost, fermentation residues); humus balance; inorganic fertilizers and soil improvers; control of soil fertility; soil liming; humus balance, fertilization plans; fertilization and environmental protection. Soil classification and evaluation; soils of Slovenia.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for the inclusion in the work:
Enrolment in the corresponding year of study programme.
Prerequisites for performing study obligations:Participation at tutorials is obligatory.
Before the exam it is necessary to elaborate and present a fertilization plan.
