Content (Syllabus outline)
- In the field of plant production, the student is introduced to crops, soil cultivation, plant protection and fertilization, together with harvesting and conservation of fodder, machinery, necessary for the processes of production, and learns the time sequence of tasks and the necessary time.
- He also learns the most important machines and tools on a farm, and their performance, and he learns to operate a tractor with attachments (requires a driving license).
- Under breeding farm animal species she/he is taught the differences and categories of animals on a farm, breeding, methods of farming, animal care, working with animals and procedures with animals, problems associated with the birth and rearing of animals, feed that is used in animal nutrition and feeding animals, as well as the production and processing of animal products.
- In the overall context, however, he is taught the facilities and agricultural machinery on a farm, and deals with work productivity of employees and other activities on a farm, all discussed critically.
- A student also gains insight into the management of a farm and the sale of agricultural products.
Due to practical training on different farms (breeding of different species, various production focuses, different environments), deviation from the given contents will occur to a certain degree among students.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for the inclusion in the work:
Enrolment in the corresponding year of study programme, have driving license for tractor (category F) and have completed training in health and safety at work.
