Content (Syllabus outline)

Due to the crucial importance of relief formation in the landscape, the focus is on relief forms and geomorphic processes that also reshape them in the present. Students become familiar with other natural elements of the landscape in the context of different subjects, so here the focus is primarily on their interconnections.

Main content areas:
• Rocks: types of rocks and their formation;
• Tectonics and tectonic processes;
• Weathering of rocks and structures;
• Slopes and slope processes and their impact on the appearance of the landscape;
• Fluvial forms and processes;
• Karst forms and processes on the surface and underground;
• Coastal forms and processes;
• Natural disasters.

Prerequisites

a) enrollment in the program
b) submitted a written exercise and field work done
