The equipment is available at the Chair of Wood Pests, Protection and Modification of Wood, Rožna dolina VIII/34 (Department of Wood Science) and is available by prior arrangement with the person in charge.

Purpose

Chamber for thermal modification of wood according to Silvapro procedure and impregnation of wood. Diameter of chamber is 40 cm, length 100 cm. It operates in a temperature range from +5 °C to +250 °C. It achieves a maximum vacuum of 96% and offers an overpressure of up to 10 bar. Temperature and pressure control is made possible by a microprocessor. Sensors for monitoring the chamber temperature and the material temperature (PT 100 temperature sensor) are built in.
