Purpose
The equipment is intended for testing wood and wood structures to determine damage caused by fungal and/or insect attack. The resistograph is based on the recording of drilling resistance. The resistograph is based on the recording of the resistance of the drilling process by drilling a hole in the wood with a fine drill bit of 2 mm diameter. If the device does not record the resistance, it means that the wood is heavy decomposed. The method is based on the fact that less energy is used to drill a hole in decomposed wood than in sound wood.
