The Faculty of Biotechnics of the University of Ljubljana announces the Call for Proposals for the Dr. Anna Mayer Kansky Prize for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis at the University of Ljubljana for the year 2025. The call is open to doctoral theses that have been successfully completed at the UL BF in the period from 1 January 2022 to 30 September 2024. The date of the successful defence of the doctoral thesis will be taken into account.Dr. Mayer Kansky Prize is open to doctoral theses that have been completed at the UL BF in the period from 1 January 2022 to 30 September 2024.

Anna Mayer Kansky studied chemistry and physics at the Vienna Faculty of Philosophy between 1914 and 1918, but continued her studies in Ljubljana due to the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. She studied starch chemistry at the university and in 1920 became the first person at the university to receive a doctorate.

Submissions of a well-founded proposal for an outstanding doctoral thesis, prepared according to the criteria set out in the call for proposals and including all the required annexes, should be sent no later than Monday 11 November 2024 to: vesna.jesejanezic@bf.uni-lj.si.
