Discover the magic of wood - Invitation to the opening of the exhibition The Magic of Wood 2025
Wood is more than a material. It is a bridge between tradition and the future, between nature and man, between the wisdom of the past and the innovation of the present.
You are invited to the opening of the 17th exhibition The Charm of Wood 2025, which will take place on Tuesday, 6 May 2025 at 11 am at the Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana.
The exhibition The Charm of Wood traditionally highlights the exceptional role of wood as a renewable, sustainable and versatile natural resource that shapes our cultural identity and opens the way to a low-carbon future.
The opening ceremony will be addressed by:
- Prof. Dr. Marina Pintar, Dean of the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana,
- Prof. Tamara Zajec Balažič, Acting Director of the Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia,
- Oskar Kogoj, renowned industrial designer, Oskar Kogoj Nature Design Gallery,
- Eva Knez, State Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food,
- Prof. Dr. Franc Pohleven, Professor Emeritus and initiator of the The Magic of Wood exhibitions,
- Mgr. Dejan Židan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, who will also officially open the exhibition.
The programme will be moderated by Suzana Perman, and Tanja Lončar will provide musical inspiration with zither and singing.
The exhibition The Magic of Wood will be on display at Cankarjev dom from 5 May until 11 May 2025.
