Dear Sir or Madam,

Thousands of tonnes of food are wasted in Slovenia every year - but what if at least some of this food could become a valuable resource for animal feed?

The final event of the CRP project "Ways and possibilities to use foodstuffs no longer destined for human consumption as alternative feed for farm and companion animals" reveals concrete data, practices and legislative challenges of this still under-exploited potential.

The presentation of the project results will take place on Wednesday, 23 April 2025, starting at 11:00, at the UL BF, Department of Animal Science, Knights' Hall, Groblje 3, Domžale.

Co-funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food and ARIS, and implemented by the Biotechnical Faculty, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Emona Development Centre, the project provides insights into innovative approaches to food security and sustainable agriculture.

The event is also open to the media looking for expert speakers, data and inspiring stories about a better future for food.
