Dear Sir or Madam,

The strategy to reduce food loss and waste in the food supply chain includes the diversion of former foodstuffs into animal feed. This supports ensuring food security, reducing the dependence of Slovenian livestock farming on imported raw materials and its pressure on human food resources, and reducing the environmental impact of the agri-food chain.

As we hope that this topic is of interest to you, we would like to invite you to a presentation of the results of the CRP project V4-2210 "Methods and possibilities of using foodstuffs no longer intended for human consumption as alternative feed for livestock and companion animals".

The CRP project, funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food and ARIS - the Public Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation of the Republic of Slovenia, is implemented by the Faculty of Biotechnology, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Emona Development Centre for Nutrition.

The presentation of the project results will take place on Wednesday, 23 April 2025, starting at 11:00, at the UL BF Department of Zootechnics, Knights' Hall, Groblje 3, Domžale.
