Department of Agronomy
The Department of Agronomy provides education of students at undergraduate (academic and higher professional studies) and postgraduate (master and doctoral studies) levels. Pedagogic work is successfully linked and supplemented by basic and applied research work. The study area covered at the Department of Agronomy is exceptionally wide and diverse, since it embraces all aspects of plant production: contemporary technologies that enable the economic production of healthy food in fruit growing, horticulture, arable farming, viticulture, production of decorative and medicinal plants, meadowlands and pastures and, at the same time, it also embraces the arrangement of agricultural areas directly connected with this, farm management, rural development and, not least, environmental protection.
